Midwest Announces Pre-Conference Tours!

Local Cheese and Wine Tour
9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Travel the picturesque Wisconsin countryside to visit Cedar Grove Cheese in Plain, WI. This cheese plant crafts over 4 million pounds of cheese a year. In December 1993, Cedar Grove Cheese became the first in the country to assure customers that its products were rBGH-free. From there, we will tour Wollershiem Winery, an award winning Wisconsin winery known for its old world charm and wonderful wines. Includes transportation and lunch.

Cook Chill and Brewery Tour
9:00 am – 1:30 pm

Learn about Gordon Dining and Event Center’s Cook Chill production. Cook Chill produces a variety of soups, sauces and entrees for use throughout campus.  Afterward, travel to Wisconsin Brewing Company.  This local brewery works with UW-Madison’s College of Agricultural and Life Sciences to create and produce recipes for favorites such as WBC’s Inaugural Red and S’Wheat Caroline. Includes transportation and lunch.

Walking Tour of UW-Madison Dining
9:00 am - 12:00

Talk a walk through the beautiful University of Wisconsin campus, tour all of our dining facilities, and witness the evolution of the dining experience on campus. You will learn some history of our campus and about notable dining leaders, while visiting some state of the art venues. –All while getting the authentic Wisconsin Experience. Please note this is a walking tour. A bus will be provided if the weather is not agreeable.
