Description of the 2016 Workshop

NACUFS is piloting a 2 ½ day workshop focused on helping you improve your interpersonal interactions with employees so you can confidently and professionally address problem behaviors, manage conflict, and receive actionable feedback to help you improve your unit’s operations.

Designers and Facilitator: Jodi Schafer, SPHR, is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, and independently owns and operates her own consulting and training firm in Williamston, Michigan. Byron Drake, Associate Director of Retail Operations, University of Montana, and Doni Walker, Training and Standards Specialist, University of Michigan, will join Jodi as the NACUFS subject matter experts in the design and delivery of the program.

Dates:             Monday, June 27 – Wednesday, June 29, 2016
                       The program starts at 8am on Monday and ends midday on Wednesday.

Location:         Brody Square, Michigan State University; East Lansing, MI

Discounted Registration Fee:  $250 

Note:  This program is valued at $600/person; it is offered at a deep discount during the pilot period.

Registration is open to all NACUFS institutional members. Thirty seats are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Receipt of a completed registration form with $250 registration fee will secure your seat.

Hotel: Participants will need to make their own hotel reservations. Rooms have been set aside at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing, Michigan. The room rate is $110/night, plus applicable taxes. The program starts at 8am on Monday and ends at midday on Wednesday.

Travel: Travel to and from Lansing Capital Region International Airport (LAN) is available from most cities. Other airports include Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids (GRR).

The hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle to/from the Lansing airport and can be arranged by calling 800-875-5090 when you book your hotel room. A rental car is needed if flying into Detroit or Grand Rapids.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch and breaks are included on Monday and Tuesday. Breakfast and a morning break is included on Wednesday. Participants are responsible for any meals during travel and for two dinners during the program.
