A NACUFS Workshop for
Anyone Who Supervises Others

This two-day workshop is designed to help you improve your interpersonal interactions with employees so you can confidently and professionally address problem behaviors, manage conflict, and receive actionable feedback to help you improve your unit’s operations.  Participant feedback from the 2016 pilot workshop has been incorporated into the 2017 workshop. 

Dates: Tuesday, October 17 to Wednesday, October 18, 2017
The program starts at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and ends at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Location: Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 

Registration Fee: $400  

To Register: Registration is open to all NACUFS institutional members. Forty seats are available on a first come, first served basis. Receipt of a completed registration form with the $400 registration fee will secure your seat.

Here’s what the workshop offers you: 

Facilitator:  Jodi Schafer, SPHR, is certified by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources, and independently owns and operates her own consulting and training firm in Williamston, Michigan.  Jodi’s expertise and easy facilitation style were well received by NACUFS attendees last year, and we are happy to have her back for another two days of knowledge sharing, skill building, and discussion around the unique supervisory challenges that you face on your campus. 


Hotel: Participants will need to make their own hotel reservations. Rooms have been set aside at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in East Lansing, Michigan. The room rate is $115/night, plus applicable taxes. The program starts at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and ends at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Travel: Travel to and from Lansing Capital Region International Airport (LAN) is available from most cities. Other airports include Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) and Gerald R. Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids (GRR), and Bishop International Airport in Flint (FNT).

The hotel offers a complimentary airport shuttle to/from the Lansing airport and can be arranged by calling 800-875-5090 when you book your hotel room. A rental car is needed if flying into Detroit, Grand Rapids, or Flint.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and breaks are included in the registration fee. Participants are responsible for any meals during travel and for dinner Tuesday night.
