Meet at: 9:45 a.m.
Tour size is limited to 50 participants.

Join us as we take a scenic ride to Kingston, Rhode Island, just a short 30 minutes from your hotel. Your destination is the University of Rhode Island, traveling with your guide, director of dining services, Steven Mello to explore the historic campus founded in 1892. Tour the award-winning facilities, as well as enjoy a dining hall experience in our LEED certified building, Butterfield Dining Hall.

Barton Seaver will lead participants on a unique half-day excursion. Traveling from Providence to Point Judith, a short 45-minute scenic ride, attendees will gain first-hand knowledge from fishermen and aquaculturists. Conversations will be curated with our educational partner, Eating with the Ecosystem, who is dedicated to informing consumers about solutions to the ecological and social issues facing New England fisheries. Discussion will be precompetitive in scope and will not promote any specific product or region. Lessons learned will have national application for both coastal and inland food service operations. Before returning to Providence, we will enjoy a casual lunch featuring local seafood.

Departure Point: Rhode Island Convention Center-East Lobby
Meet at: 10:30 a.m.
Tour size is limited to 50 participants.

Enjoy a guided tour through the beautiful Johnson & Wales University campus. Tour through the city of Providence and visit Johnson & Wales dining facilities. You will learn the history of the campus while visiting some remarkable venues. Learn about their Cook Chill operation which produces a variety of soups, sauces and entrees for consumption throughout campus. Meet your guide Amanda Rotondi, at J&W’s main campus on Weybosset Street a short walk from your hotels and hop aboard J&W’s transport for your Edutour of the premier school of Culinary Arts located right here in Providence.

Tour sizes are limited so each person can order no more than 2 tickets.
