Responsibilities

Day to day operation of 650 seat AYCE dining hall.

Thorough knowledge of the materials, methods, and equipment used in preparing food on a large scale.
Extremely organized with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Skilled at getting individuals, teams and an entire organization to perform at a higher level and to embrace change; negotiate skillfully to achieve a fair outcome or promote a common cause; inspires others; builds motivated, high-performing teams; understands what motivates different people.
Considerable knowledge of food preparation and food service management, methods, and techniques, with an emphasis on quality and presentation.
Able to work varied hours including weekends.
Able to control and manage retail and residential food service operations, including catering, if needed.
Considerable knowledge of health hazards in food storage, preparation and service, and of necessary precautionary measures.
Able to take inventory and keep records of foodstuffs used.
Able to supervise the work of others.
Able to prepare working schedules for employees and to instruct subordinates in food service procedures.
Able to maintain a variety of records and to prepare reports.
Able to meet deadlines and manage accordingly.
Able to strategically plan and logistically execute work flows.
Ability to manage through crisis and extenuating circumstances.
Present at high profile events to act as departmental liaison with various University departments and organizations.
Well-versed at building relationships internally and be a consummate team player.

Required Qualifications

Graduation with 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with course work in dietetics and restaurant management and experience in a large food service unit; or any comparable combination of training, education, and experience
