Understanding and measuring operational performance is critical for effective foodservice management. The annual NACUFS Operating Performance Benchmarking Survey allows you to effectively assess the performance your dining program over time and compare it to national benchmarks, helping you identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
To participate, simply fill out and return the survey questionnaire. Data from the responses of participating institutions will be collected and analyzed by Industry Insights, Inc., a professional research firm that specializes in business studies for associations.
After the completion of the survey, you will receive a comprehensive report that displays your results compared to the aggregated benchmarks from all participating institutions. Data submitted is completely confidential—only you will have access to your institution’s information.

It’s free. An exclusive benefit of your NACUFS membership, the Operating Performance Benchmarking Survey is offered completely free of charge. But only schools that participate in the survey will receive the results.
It’s convenient. You can fill out and return a printed questionnaire or submit your data online. An easy-to-use Excel® template is available here to help you record your benchmarking information.
It’s customized. The report you receive is tailored with your institution’s data alongside the aggregated benchmarks of all participants. For a nominal fee, you can further customize your report with a sub-sampling of comparable data, allowing you to evaluate your performance with that of a specific target group.
