Join colleagues and peers for one of three Edutours before the National Conference officially kicks off, Wednesday, July 12th.


Tour of Jack Daniel's Distillery
Departure Point: Omni Nashville Hotel Lobby
Meet at 9:00am

DESCRIPTION: Join your colleagues on a bus trip through central Tennessee that culminates with a tour of the Jack Daniel's Distillery and lunch at Barrel House BBQ. This unique look at an iconic Tennessee whiskey distillery will allow people to see bourbon being produced and learn the process of what makes Jack Daniels unique in the whiskey industry. After the guided tour is completed, you will get to sample several of the whiskeys produced on site. This trip includes a traditional BBQ lunch plate and sweet iced tea for the perfect southern meal to compliment the tour.
Tour size is limited to 48 participants.
 
JACK DANIEL'S DISTILLERY POLICIES AND RESTRICTIONS
-Valid photo ID will be checked if taking a sampling tour: TN law states only 21 and over may consume alcohol.
-Tours are mostly outdoors and require quite a bit of walking and steps;
-Purses, backpacks, camera bags and tote bags are not allowed on tour
-A limited number of self-locking lockers are available first-come, first-served and free of charge
-Shopping bags or glass bottles are not allowed on tour
-Pets are not allowed in Visitor Center or on tour
-Smoking (including smokeless tobacco, e-cigarettes and vapor devices) allowed only in designated areas
-Weapons of any kind not allowed on tour
 

Vanderbilt University Campus Dining Experience; a tour of Vanderbilt Food Services Venues
Departure Point: Omni Nashville Hotel Lobby
Meet at 9:30am

DESCRIPTION: Start your time in Nashville with a tour of the various food service venues that are located on the Vanderbilt campus. Vanderbilt Campus Dining staff will showcase their various dining halls and retail facilities as you take a walking tour of the historic Vanderbilt campus. Learn about the dining philosophy that drives this organization to serve the wide array of customers that look to them daily for a varied food experience. This tour includes a catered lunch provided by the chefs that help drive the culinary experience at this nationally known university.
Tour size is limited to 25 participants.


The Gaylord Experience; a tour of the Gaylord Hotel and Resort Catering and Food Service Operations
Departure Point: Omni Nashville Hotel Lobby
Meet at 10am

DESCRIPTION: This tour offers the unique opportunity to learn about catering and food service delivery from the perspective of the private marketplace. Food experiences at a high-end hotel and resort require special care and customer service applications that are unique to the varied needs of its customers. Learn about large scale catering events; the training needs of an organization dedicated to high end service; and enjoy a look at the facilities required to operate in this unique environment. The Gaylord staff will share their perspective and philosophy of delivering exemplary service and show you what it means first hand as you get a behind the scenes tour of the resort. Lunch will be provided at the completion of the tour so you can experience their food first hand.
Tour size is limited to 48 participants.


All Edutours will include a walking tour of the location and a lunch. Tour sizes are limited so each person can order no more than 2 tickets.
